What is a UID? UID is a system
for uniquely identifying parts and products.
It is composed of a numbering system that
guarantees global uniqueness as well as a
method of permanently marking the number on
an item using a DataMatrix barcode which
consist of a cage code, a part number and a
serial number.

Which Items Require a UID? Items that
have a procurement cost of more than $5,000.

How do I apply UID to parts?
There are several methods that we
offer for applying a DataMatrix barcode to
your parts. The following techniques below
are used to apply UID to your parts.
Direct Marking-The
process of embedding the UID marks directly
onto the product itself, usually via
dot-peen, laser or electo-chemical etch.
Durable Labels-Labels
made out of a highly durable material with a
strong adhesive backing. They can be applied
like regular stickers.
