Univseral ID
Systems is a Division
of Commerce Overseas
Corporation (COC).
COC, established in
1967, is a leading
global supplier of
military aircraft
parts and service
and is ISO 9001-2000
Certified.
When parent company,
Commerce Overseas
Corporation, was
tasked with
implementing an RFID
and UID compliance
solution, a new
business model was
conceived. The cost
of both equipment
and personnel to
manage compliance to
the new mandates
could be outsourced
to a service
provider. UIDS
meets that need for
a full range of
defense
contractors.
Subscription
Service
UIDS
provides the
complete solution to
all of the DoD
mandates, from part
marking to RFID
shipment labeling to
electronic DD250
invoice submission
through the WAWF
(Wide Area Work
Flow). Subscription
services are
tailored to meet the
contractor's need,
large, medium and
small.
UID Compliance
UIDS provides an
infrastructure that
ensures certified
compliance. We
provide 2D Bar Code
reader / verifier
equipment to our
subscribers that is
certified to read
and test both syntax
and semantics to
ISO/IEC
specifications. We
store each read /
verify event in the
form of a test
report in our secure
database. Our
software creates a
Certificate of
Conformance (C of C)
for each UID mark,
and ‘links’ it to
the test report as
objective evidence
to support the C of
C. The C of Cs can
be viewed, emailed
or printed at any
time, logging on
with their user name
and password. We
also create a
database ‘key’ that
we can link to the
RFID ‘smart tag’
label when the
product is ready to
be packaged and
shipped. This
stores the UID
number with the RFID
EPC (Electronic
Product Code).
Although the DOD is
not requiring this
UID / RFID link
today, it is
scheduled to be
mandated in 2007.
RFID Certified
Compliance
UIDS provides our
subscribers with
RFID tags, either
printed and supplied
from UIDS with our
24 hour tag delivery
service, or printed
at our customer’s
site with equipment
installed and
maintained by UIDS.
UIDS tests each RFID
label to ensure it
is readable to the
requirements spelled
out in MIL-129P
Change 3. We store
the tag verification
data in a test
report in our
database, and then
we link the test
report to a
Certificate of
Conformance, that
again can be viewed,
emailed or printed
by our subscribers
in the same fashion
as the UID
Certificates of
Conformance.
When packaging UID
marked parts,
subscribers have the
ability to ‘link’
the UIDs with the
package they are
being shipped in.
The UIDS software
links the RFID EPC
unique
identification to
the UIDs and this
data is stored on
the subscriber’s UID
/ RFID registry that
is accessible and
downloadable at any
time.
Electronic DD250
Compliance
UIDS subscribers
will have a feature
on the our site to
facilitate the
submission of
Electronic DD250s
and MIRRs through
the WAWF,(Wide Area
Work Flow). Each
UIDS subscriber will
have a UID and RFID
repository that
stores the UID data
construct(s) and
RFID EPC (electronic
product code) per
contract number.
When users are
connected to the
WAWF from the UIDS
subscription site,
our software enables
the user to export
the UID and RFID
data to the WAWF
automatically.
Requirements
Analysis
UIDS
performs comprehensive assessments
of exactly with our
customers need to
become and remain
compliant. We work
with our customers
to determine the
best equipment types

optimum workflow.
We carefully
evaluate the types
of products that
will be marked and
